Pictures at an Exhibition
Pictures at an Exhibition was composed by the Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky. The piece describes a visit to an exhibition of paintings by Victor Hartmann, a friend of the composer. Mussorgsky wrote a piece of music to describe each picture, and imitate its atmosphere.
