Other Church Music

Confession. Free Choir and congregation. This sung confession, to one of the texts from Common Worship, needs a choir to sing accompanying harmonies, and a leader, who sings each line of the confession, before the congregation echoes him/her. Originally written for Lent, but it could be used at any time of year.
Confession
The Lord's prayer. Free Piano and unison voices (for congregation). This uses the contemporary version of the Lord's prayer in Common Worship, and was originally intended for a sung communion service.

God is our refuge (Psalm 46). Free Unison voices and piano. Reflective and still.

It is good to praise the Lord (Psalm 92). Free Unison voices and piano. This is jazzy, and needs a keyboard player, and ideally a rhythm section, who can groove. The opening verses of the psalm form a chorus (a congregation could join in if they're adventurous). The verses all have different music, and are rhythmically complex, so these need a group of good singers.

Sing a new song (Psalm 98) Unison voices and piano
The Lord is my light (Psalm 27). Free Voices and piano. This sets some of the verses of the psalm in a verse and chorus setting. There are a few Gospel influences, and a touch of jazz.
The Lord is my light
God be in my head. £5 (licence to print 3 copies) Solo tenor, organ and obbligato soprano saxophone. The text originally comes from a Book of Hours, and has been through various hymn and anthem settings. In this version, the tenor voice sings it quite simply, with echoes and elaborations from the saxophone, and a chordal accompaniment on the organ.
